kl4kl: The way to a man's heart.....

I cooked on Valentines Day. Left office as early as I could. I also sacrificed my aerobics class. Three dishes - his favourite soup, chicken and vegetables. Simple dishes but he was really touched because he knew that there was a lot of effort on my part.

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. A grandmother's advice but I believe it still stands today because he said "Thank you" and "I love you" uncountable times that night.

He promised that he would bring me out for another Valentines Day celebration after his exams. I'm putting this in so that he will read this and be reminded!!!

kl4kl: 1st CG Outing

Our first CG Outing. We had dinner at Breeks and watched Firewall at Gurney Plaza. According to survey, Gurney Plaza is most CG member's favourite hangout place in Penang. Isn't Gurney Plaza an all time favourite for all Penangites?

There were ten of us at dinner including two guests (Joel and Yee Kin). Patrick only joined us for the movie. It was also Yen Hsiang's birthday and we got him a cake. Yen Hsiang looked really down when he came and he said it was due to his work. I hope the cake + the rest of us cheered him a little. Yen Hsiang, did it?

Planning for this outing was a little tough initially. Choosing and deciding on a movie was pretty difficult. Some were upset that we couldn't watched certain movies. Further more, Thaipusam celebration started on that day and we knew the traffic would be heavy.

Beginning at 5+pm, people were calling and smsing me to cancel. Some were sick and some were still caught up at work. Feeling a little discouraged, I prayed. If the traffic was really bad, it would make more people to cancel. I prayed that God would clear the road for us. And He did! Kasturi who arrived early called me and told me that the road was clear. And throughout our journey from Greenlane to Gurney, the traffic wasn't that bad at all. And although several didn't turn up, there were still 11 of us! Praise the Lord.

kl4kl: He asked...... I said yes......

A week before Christmas, he insisted that we should go out for a nice Christmas Eve dinner alone although my sister would already be in Penang then. I thought he was trying to make up for the quarrel we had a week before. So I agreed to the plan.

Thinking back on that night, he acted differently. He was sweating during dinner at 32 Mansion. I asked him and he told me that it was due to the coffee - too strong. I believed him, didn't doubt at all.

After paying so much to have dinner at 32 and with the live jazz band playing, he insisted that we leave the place after dinner and proceed to E&O Hotel. He said he saw a nice Christmas tree there where we could take photos. Lame, isn't it? But again, I bought that.

He was looking for a quiet spot so that I can open his Christmas present. Found a nice spot and I opened the present. Then, he said he wasn't sure whether he locked his car and he needed to go and check. He came back with a huge bouquet of flowers. I was astonished. "Flowers for Christmas? Huh?"

His answer was, "Flowers during Valentines are too expensive so I'm getting flowers for you now." Lame, isn't it? But again I bought it without any doubt. The bouquet consists of a dozen each of pink, champage and orange roses, and 8 stalks of red roses. "Huh? Why the combination so funny wan? What does it mean?". "Read the card and you will understand." He answered.

He made me a card and asked me to open it. It was a handmade booklet with several pages.

1st page: Specially 4 Kah Ling, Love Kig Ling

2nd page: 4 colors for the years together

3rd page: 12 per color for each month in a year with one another

4th page: 44 in total for all the months with each other

5th page: An unblemished 1 for all the many coming perfect months together

"Huh? What unblemished one? There is still another flower?" I was a little confused. Then, he took out the ring and said "Will you marry me?". I was stunned for awhile staring at the diamond. Speechless. Then I cried. I threw my arms around him and cried. "Do you promise to love me and take care of me?" I asked. He replied, "Yes".

Then I answered, "I do".

"Oh okay, I do." He repeated after me.

He didn't understand me so I repeated my answer, "I will"

He said, "Errr, okay, yes, I will."

"I meant my answer to your question is YES."

"Huh? What question?" He paused for awhile and then, "Ohhh....." Finally, he understood.

We hugged. We're engaged.

We are both quite duh, isn't it?
